Second Chance Second Chance is an innovative program focused on youth returning to Bismarck-Mandan from the Youth Correctional Center and other residential placements. With 50% of reentering juvenile offenders re-offending, the program tests ways to reduce recidivism by providing a wide range of services provided by public and private agencies.
Second Chance will prepare juveniles for reentry into their families and to the community. Services will address risk and protective factors through linkages and arrangements with key providers will collaborate on developing reentry plans. The key collaborators are: Division of Juvenile Services, Youthworks, and the Heartview Foundation.
